Description: (LEAF BOOKS.) Chaucer, Geoffrey. Two Chaucer Leaves. Two early printed leaves from The Third Book of the Testament of Love, in sixteenth-century black-letter folio sheets tipped into a printed bifolium. Small folio, the first leaf (fol. cccxxv) from the undated edition circa 1551, measures 300x197 mm; 11 3/4x7 3/4 inches. The second leaf (fol. cccvii) from the 1561 edition, measures 312x215 mm; 12 1/4x8 1/2 inches, both with floriated initial "O" and the second with an historiated initial "I," slightly toned and foxed. Bifolium is printed in black and red with explanatory text printed on rear. one of 88 sets created as a Keepsake by Duncan H. Olmsted and Roger Levenson at Tamalpais Press for presentation to members of the Roxburghe Club of San Francisco and other friends. [London, 1551; 1651] (San Francisco, 1965)
