Signed by Henry Miller, Big Sur, Calif., on the front free endpaper. Besides the title essay, there is also "Civil Disobedience" and "John Brown's Body." Provenance: The Robert [Bob] Young collection of Henry Miller, deaccessioned from a California institution.
Condition Report: Glassine a bit darkened with ½x4" piece missing from lower edge of front panel; light offset to endpapers; near fine in like jacket.
