Description: Lot of 2 Rifles. 1) Fabrique Nationale 24/30 Bolt Action Rifle. Cal. 30-06. S# 9909. Bbl. 23.3". Top of chamber marked "crown/L/ABL/1951". Left side of receiver "FN" marked. Stock & bolt numbered to gun. Left side of receiver has "C/AA", an "R", & rearward pointed arrow. Faint cartouche in front of floorplate assembly. Left side of bbl. marked "S" behind sight band. Made 1951. Navy model w/ gray parkerized finish, yet "ABL" means Belgian Army. Very light handguard compared to stock. Bbl. band swivel set has blued finish. CONDITION: Very good plus. Arsenal refinish. Very good bore & near excellent mechanics. Handguard very good plus. Good condition stock w/ dark, oily finish & numerous handling marks. Missing cleaning rod. (09-2262/NW) CURIO. 2) Mauser Model 98 Bolt Action Rifle. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 1. Bbl. 24". Left side of receiver marked "Germany 2.75 g.G.B.P.". Bbl.markings concealed within stock are crown "N" proofs & "7.9mm". On bbl. & on receiver in front of recoil lug is "1, knight on horse & "Bayard" under it. Large dovetail on front receiver bridge stamped "1" as are all other components of bolt & rear bridge. Sporter stock w/ European cheekpiece having a bear rudimentarily carved on its face. Round knob pistol grip, plain forend & suede leather wrapped metal buttplate. European swivels & sling. 2 leaf express style sight, along w/ ramp & post. Dbl. set triggers & commercial, rather than military floorplate assembly. Front bridge has large open dovetail & rear bridge reshaped w/ 2 tapped holes. Gun was set for claw mounts. CONDITION: Metal has thinning blue throughout. Areas of no finish on receiver where mount was. Beginning patina on floorplate assembly & on rear sight. Bore & mechanics near excellent. Stock shows considerable handwear as checkering in grip area is almost gone. (09-2266/NW) MODERN. $500-750 for both
