Description: Louisiana Creole Cherrywood and Cypress Armoire, early 19th c., stepped cornice, recessed panel doors, enclosing a medial belt of three drawers centered within shelf interior, scalloped apron, cabriole legs, h. 79 1/4 in., w. 54 1/4 in., d. 23 in. Provenance: Morton's Auction, New Orleans. Note: Creole-style armoires similar to the lot offered here have descended through families of the River Parishes in Louisiana.
