Lynn Bogue Hunt (1878-1960) Striped Marlin, Oil on canvas, 17 by 21.5 inches, Signed "Lynn Bogue Hunt" lower right. This painting hung at the Miami Rod & Reel Club in Coral Gables, Florida. J. Lee Cuddy, who commissioned this work in the 1940s, was a world renowned angler who se tnumerous IGFA world records in the 1950s and 1960s and was inducted into the Scientific Anglers Hall of Fame. He was the co-owner of a fishing and tackle business in Miami, Florida along with Ted Williams, the Boston Red Sox great, and the legendary golfer Sam Snead. Lynn Bogue Hunt paintings of saltwater, big game fish are extremely difficult to come by. Many of these works were done as illustrations for S. Ki Farrington's "Atlantic Game Fishing" published in 1937, which has a similar work of a leaping marlin on the cover.
