This painting comes to us handed down from its original owner through the family. The painting is signed by James Bard in the lower right hand corner "Drawn & painted by James S. Bard, N.Y. 1860 152 Perry St.". This painting dates from the midpoint of James career. A point at which his most memorable work was produced. Thomas P. She was enrolled in July of 1859 and sold in August to the Staten Island & New York Ferry Company, -for a profit. Way himself died in 1863. There are two versions of Thomas P. W25000.
