June 12, 2013
Jerusalem, IsraelLive Auction
Early geniza fragment of an unknown, early medrash on the Ten Commandments. Similar to the "Medrash Pesikta Rabbati", 21(Vienna edition, 1840, p. 105-110). Printed from this manuscript by A. Schreiber in "Tarbitz", 25 (1816), p. 464-467. M.B. Lerner, in "Mechkirei HaTalmud", 1 (1980), proves that though a section of this medrash is similar to the "Pesikta", it is a collection of drashos according to medrash for the Ten Commandment. The Oxford Bodleian library has an additional fragment of this manuscript (MS Heb. D. 63, ff. 49-50).
