Eyndelyck Italien beschreven met hare nabuerighe eylanden (…). Vert. d. J. G(rindal). Amst, B. Boeckholt, 1665. 263, (1) pp. W. engr. ti., 3 engr. & 26 text-engr. 4°. Cont. vellum. (Vellum a bit stained, margins a bit thumbed/faintly stained in places). George Sandys (1578-1644), English traveller, colonist & poet. After his travels he became a bishop. His travels began in 1610. He first visited France, then Italy, Constantinople, Egypt, Palestine etc. This work formed a substantial contribution to geography & ethnology, and the first original English edition was published in 1615. - Schoneveld, 134; NHSM I, 256; Tiele, 959 (note).
