Provenance: The Hon. Mrs Miller-Jones and thence by descent within the family (bears purchase label verso).

Exhibited: The New Art Centre, 41 Sloane Street, London.

Other Notes: Mary Potter studied at the Slade School from 1918 and specialised in still-life and landscape painting. She exhibited with the New English Art Club and with the London Group where she became a member in 1938.

Condition Report: In original hessian mount and silvered frame. Painting in excellent condition. Canvas has Winsor and Newton artist's supplier's stamp on reverse. Minor abrasion around edges.
