Description: signed MAX-BLONDAT / FRANCE and with two SIOT- DECAUVILLE / PARIS pastilles and numbered G809 . gilt-bronze

Notes: Blondat studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and exhibited at the Salon from 1890. An honorable mention at the Paris 1900 Exposition Universelle brought him into public view and began his considerable success. Blondat was known primarily as a decorative sculptor and was one of the founders of the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs. He was made an officer of the Légion d'Honneur in 1925.
