Title: Death Goes Native
Author: Max Long
Publisher: J. B. Lippincott Company
Printing Year: 1941 First Edition in Rare Dustjacket
Condition/Details: Bound in yellow cloth with bright embossed green lettering, this volume is a scarce first edition of this crime novel set in the Hawaiian Islands, the third and final in the excellent series featuring Komako, the native Hawaiian detective. The author conveys Native cultural practices through the device of the murder mystery. The volume shows external age/wear, with light soiling to top and bottom margins of front cover and spine. The book is solidly bound with clean pages. Dustjacket has tearing to extremities with loss of material at the bottom and top right-hand corner of rear cover, top of spine and top right-hand corner of front cover (affecting roughly half of the title and a portion of drawing). Dustjacket is now in protective plastic cover. Previous owner's name appears on front flyleaf (together with date). The book measures approximately 5 3/4" x 8 1/4" and contains 269 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
