Possibly 15th-16th century.
The hammered flat gold band on this simple ring is decorated with hatchings and set with an ellipsoid bezel holding a cabochon garnet. Small rectangular gold pieces define the shoulders of the ring, where bezel meets hoop. The red of the garnet may indicate the ring was given as a love token.
