Description: 12th-14th century AD. A flat-section gold hoop with scaphoid plaque, hatch detailing to the shoulders, low cell with inset green glass cabochon. Cf. Oman, C.C. British Rings 800-1914, London, 1974, plate 13(B) for type. 2.32 grams, 21mm overall, 17.44mm internal diameter (approximate size British N 1/2, USA 7, Europe 14.51, Japan 14) (3/4"). From an important private London collection; formed in the 1970s and 1980s.
