Description: 6th century AD. A large flat-section tinned bronze counterplate from a buckle set with three domed bosses, each with a beaded collar, incised three-strand braid to the centre flanked by bands of ropework ornament; notch to the upper edge to accommodate the tongue of the buckle; three pierced lugs to the reverse.
