Description: 6th century AD. A gold pyramid mount comprising four triangular panels of cloisonné garnets in a beaded wire border, beaded wire collar to the upper face with inset garnet cabochon, two slots to the underside. See Mortimer, P. Woden's Warriors, Ely, 2011 for discussion. 14 grams, 21mm (3/4"). From an old German collection; acquired in Munich in the 1970s. Accompanied by a positive X-Ray Fluorescence metal analysis certificate.

Condition Report: Very fine condition, usage wear.
