Description: Mexico, early 20th century CE. This is a colorful red, cream, and black painted and carved wood face mask representing a skull -- a calaca, a mask made to be worn as part of the Day of the Dead Festival. The piece has an old collection number on its back and has been pierced for attachment. Size: 14" H (35.6 cm)

Provenance: Ex- New York Gallery, The Tryworks Collection compiled by the Rev. Richard and Jean Kellaway of Fairhaven, MA.
