Description: 1838 Action Nom. de F1000. black on pink paper. #900. No 409. Mining manganese in these 3 departments was never on a large scale and never very profitable. Perhaps the best-known mine was at Romanèche-Thorins, south of Macon. Yet, this company was clearly successful as evidenced with the dividend stamps on the back (showing through on the front due to the thin paper) until 1870 and various transfer notes until 1908. Early date.
