Description: N/A Geoffrey Chaucer. The Works ? Newly Imprinted. (Edited by F. S. Ellis). Hammersmith, 1896 Folio (16K x 11I in.; 422 x 292 mm, uncut). Printed in black and red in Chaucer type, with the headings of the longer poems in Troy type, wood-engraved frontispiece and 87 wood-engraved vignettes after Sir Edward Burne-Jones, numerous borders and initials engraved in wood after designs by William Morris; occasional very light spotting. Publisher's quarter linen, blue paper boards, paper spine label; some wear and foxing, label chipped. Brown buckram folding-case. William Morris's masterpiece of printing and illustration, in the original publisher's boards. One of 425 copies on paper of a total edition of 438.
