The present lot is a unique collection of personal correspondence between the artists, never before published, it is an exclusive reflection on the artistic life of the period in Europe, illustrating such details as the personal life of the emigré Russian artists, the artistic taste and market. An extensive volume of letters relates to Larionov's involvement with Vladimir Nikolaevich Bashkirov, an important collector of the avante-garde residing in the United States, whom Larionov advised on collecting.
