Condition / Notes: This antique volume is solidly bound in blindstamped cloth covers with stamped gilt lettering/ornamentation on the spine and front cover. There is some rubbing and chipping concentrated at the edges and gutters. The bookplate of the Bowdoin College Library is affixed to the front pastedown. The pages show mild age toning and scattered light foxing, mostly in the margins. The work is lavishly illustrated with fold-out maps and plates, some in color.
