Description: Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A lovely seated female terracotta figure, with remains of tattooing on her body and characteristically elongated visage and meticulously incised coiffure. Her face shows sophisticated contours, a prominent nose, incised eyes, and mouth. She is elaborately adorned with a white hairband, double-strand necklace, and grand ear ornaments. Size: 7-3/4" x 4" at widest (19.7 x 10.2 cm).
