Description: This is an antique folk art sheet metal paint decorated wall hanging candle sconce from New England circa 1800s for your consideration. The antique rooster candle sconce is handmade from heavy sheet metal and is paint decorated with a glorious primitive patina. The antique rooster candle sconce has a wide base for candle wax overflow that is riveted to the rooster wall mount. There is a sheet metal candle holder riveted to the candle base. The wall mount was hand cut in a rooster design represented christianity and faith and was a very popular folk art figure in the 1800s.

Condition Report: Excellent condition with age appropriate wear and patina.

Dimensions: 4 inches high, 5 inches wide, and 3 inches deep.
