SIGNED AND DATED (MAKER'S MARKS) signed ARTIST'S NATIONALITY American MATERIAL/MEDIUM oil on board EXECUTED IN Painted after 1893 EXHIBITED New York, Berry-Hill Galleries, Inc., Old Money: American Trompe L'Oeil Images of Currency, 1988, cat. no. 7 PUBLISHED CONDITION NOTE Surface: in good condition, generally Under Ultra Violet: scattered inpainting in background area--dollar bill is clean; two lines of inpainting, each about 2 in. long, both diagonal--one extends left and down from left side of dollar to the left edge--the other, extends down from the lower edge of the bill to the lower edge itself; a few spots of inpainting at lower right background (can just about discern these restorations with naked eye in raking light)
