Condition/Details: Bound in red cloth with bright gilt lettering, this folio volume is a scarce study of the work of Berenice Abbott (1898 - 1991), an American photographer best known for her black-and-white photography of New York City architecture and urban design of the 1930s. This book has an introduction by John Canaday and a commentary by Berenice Abbott herself. The work is inscribed to Marilyn French by Charlotte Seedy, the prominent literary agent. The inscription reads: "I wish I had / come across this / earlier. / Love, / Charlotte Sheedy / 1985." The work is illustrated with many photographs of celebrities and sites in New York City. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean, unmarked pages with yellowed edges. Well-preserved dustjacket is in mylar cover.
