Description: Portrait of a woman , dated 1650, attributed to Jan van Ravesteyn (ca 1570- ca 1657), This important piece hails from the golden age of Dutch portrait painting and depicts a woman of the upper class wearing an austere grey on black patterned dress covered with a translucent gauzy mantle held by a black rosette. This piece has signatures and dates on the face and verso. Dutch Signed and Dated 1650 Renaissance Portrait oil on wood panel; Panel dimensions (73cm x 54cm) 29"h x 21"w; framed (84.5cm x 64.5cm) 33.25"h x 25.25" Signed "AE T. 50" Dated 1650 Also marked on back Panel " N.j.j " ///////////////////////////////////////////// ////////////////////////////// Provenance: This was of the collection of Ambassador Ragnar Petri which was passed down from Ragnars father " M-Harald Petri" Swedish Consul General of Antwerp Belgium from the 1920's on.
