The Night Before Christmas. 1924. Vintage platinum print. 20,3 x 15,2 cm. Mounted to original board (edges slightly time-stained, a few light spots), signed and dated by the photographer in pencil below the image on the mount; typed text label, number label and estate stamp with number as well as numbered in pencil on mount verso.
This image was published in Harper's Bazaar and used as a successful merchandising photo. The eighteen toys carefully arranged in the photo were so clearly depicted that it enabled customers to mail order the items they wanted. - Minimal discoloration in lower edge and lower right corner, otherwise a rich tonal print in very good, near excellent condition.
