Description: [Greece] Over 25 photographs, mostly ancient ruins in Greece, some Rome. Some emphasize landscape. Largely albumen, some gelatin silver. Includes: ++ Large carbon print (verso stamped “Received May 30 1888/ Art Department,” image 20 3/8 x 32 3/8 in.). ++ 3 photographs by Dimitri Constantin [the entrance to the Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus,and an engraved relief]. Possibly albumen, possibly coated salt prints. Images 10 3/4 x 14 3/4 in. to 10 3/4 x 14 5/8 in. Small tear to image of Temple of Zeus. 2 mounts have a bit of wear, 1 mount is probably later. ++ Other photographs are 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 in. to 11 3/8 x 15 1/4 in., averaging about 8 x 11 1/2 in. Mostly on contemporary mounts, some without mounts. Condition varies, but images are mostly very good with some exceptions. Usual color change. Mounts tend to have more wear and sometimes foxing.
