Description: SERIAL #: None DESIGN: 19th century flintlock operated black powder rifle. 38" pinned octagonal barrel. Bore measures to approximately .45". Double set trigger. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Steel barrel. Brass furniture. Full length curly maple wood stock with cheek piece for the right handed shooter. FEATURES: Brass blade front sight. Rear v-notch sight. Lock is marked "HENRY PARKER / WARRANTED" and is engraved with swirling motifs in front of the hammer and a game bird scene behind the hammer. Top barrel flat has chicken walking engraving in front of and behind rear sight. Fourteen German silver medallion decorations on the butt stock, wrist, and along the stock under the barrel on both sides. Brass trigger guard, pierced patch box with modest border engraving, side plate, cheek piece plate with chicken walking engraving, forearm plate, crescent butt plate with extended top and bottom tang, ramrod guides, and fore-end cap. Modest motifs are carved in to the left rear of the butt stock. Wood ramrod. CONDITION: Very good. Little of the original finish remains on the barrel's surface. Numerous nicks, scratches, and small gouges in the metal. Modest discoloration to the brass and German silver furniture. Moderate wear to stock with repairs at the top tang, wrist, and trigger guard areas. Additional stock repairs to the stock along the length of the barrel on both sides.
