Description: Painting on a natural wood panel and plaster of a minaret and the ruins of a mosque, likely 19th century. We believe the artist's signature translates to Ibraheem Naseem. The painting style is impressionistic. This painting is of the ruins of a Persian (Iranian) mosque in Tabriz. It is potentially of the Blue Mosque in Tabriz. Depicted in the foreground of this painting are two Russian soldiers. Their dress and helmet style indicates that this painting is depicting Persia around the time of the Russo-Persian War of 1826 - 1868. Dimensions are 10 1/2 inches wide by 18 inches high without the frame. With the frame the painting is 13 inches wide by 20 1/2 inches long. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It has some damage to the wood panel and plaster. Painting has been re-framed. Provenance: Family heirloom, came to America in 1977 with the family when they immigrated from Iran. It was given to the consignor's father by his grandfather in Tabriz. High resolution images can be found at: https://file.ac/WJDfSliVvB0/
