20th C. Very fine, Chinese porcelain in shape of baluster quatrefoil floriform lobed petal. The clay fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Of a globular body, heavy to the rounded shoulder, gently waisted neck to flori-form petal flared rim, raised on correspondence splayed foot base. Two orange-red archaic chilong dragon handles flanked on the neck. The exterior finely hand-painted with grisaille decoration of various birds within branching flower blooms, with alternately, showing group of fish within water foliage under moonshine. Shows numerous themed inscriptions and iron-red artist signatures.
Mark on base, a seal mark, with six iron-red script -KaiShu- characters, JiangXi Porcelain industry.

Provenance: PROVENANCE: From the heirs of Sir john Dorrington and the Vosper estates from Stroud Gloucestershire these items were purchased by a prominent antiques collector in 2008. Seeking historical and collectible items he attended numerous auctions and estate sales in the area as well as from nearby countries. Sometimes finding a rarity sometimes just the camaraderie of fellow collectors.
