Nachricht von den vielen Lastern, welche die Jesuiten in der Provinz Guienne begangen haben; nebst seiner Verantwortung auf die Verläumdungen des Jacob Beaufes und einer Beurtheilung der Jesuiten überhaupt. Aus dem Französischen und Lateinischen übersetzt. (Breslau, Gosohorsky), 1761. 286 S., 1 Bl. 18 x 10,5 cm. Halblederband der Zeit (Rückengelenke geklebt, Schild erneuert, etwas bestoßen). Erste deutsche Ausgabe, die französische Originalausgabe erschien 1648 in Leiden. - De Backer-S. IV, 754, 2 - Fromm III, 13032 - Hayn-Gotendorf III, 408. - Pierre Jarrige (1604-1660 oder 1670), zunächst Jesuit, lehrte in Bordeaux Grammatik, Humaniora und Rhetorik. Er bekannte sich 1647 in La Rochelle zum Calvinismus, verteidigte in Leiden seinen Abfall und erhielt dafür von den Generalstaaten eine Pension. In La Rochelle gerichtlich zum Strang und zur Verbrennung seiner Leiche verurteilt, verfasste er eine Schmähschrift, der, nachdem die Jesuiten geantwortet hatten, eine noch giftigere folgte und auch hier nach der allgemeinen Schilderung der jesuitischen Missetaten abgedruckt ist (vgl. Lexikon für Theologie und Kirche, Band V, 287). - Die S. 54-96 mit "Der Jesuiten Geilheit in ihren Classen; ihre Geilheit bei Besuchen, in ihren Häusern, in Kirchen, auf Reisen, auf dem Lande und in Nonnenklöstern". Jarrige berichtet über pädophile Jesuiten, Fälscher, Diebe, Mörder - kurzum, nichts wird ausgelassen. - "Guienne" im Titel wird von Sabin 35794 fälschlich als Guyana aufgefasst, es handelt sich aber um die alte (bis 1790) französische Provinz Guienne bei Bordeaux.
