Flexible cloth cover stamped with gold lettering. Twenty-two pages plus seven handcolored plates. The first American book published on paper doll making. Inscribed, "Mary H. Wallace / from her sisters Lizzie & Lydia / Sep 26th 1856". 6 3/4" h. 5 1/4" w.
Cloth cover has a few frayed threads along the edge. Soiling and shelf wear. Interior pages with foxing and some stains. Some separation from the thread binding. Pages with tears, writing in pencil and ink. Missing plate III.
