Watercolor and pencil on cream laid paper, circa 1890. 300x230 mm; 11 7/8x9 1/8 inches.
Published in Lionello Venturi, Cézanne, son art et son oeuvre, Paris, 1963, number 1119 (illustrated); and John Rewald, Paul Cézanne, the Watercolors, Boston, 1983 number 372 (illustrated); and also illustrated in Lionello Venturi, Paul Cézanne Watercolors, Oxford, 1943, page 21 and plate 11.
According to Rewald, this watercolor is vaguely related to the painting, Vase de Tulips, circa 1890, (Venturi 618).
In a letter of January 12, 2009, Professor Theodore Reff has stated his opinion that this work is by Paul Cézanne.
