Description: PEN & INK ILLUSTRATION - Caricature by George Wachsteter (1911-2004), for the 1965 Broadway production of the play 'Boeing-Boeing', by French playwright Marc Camoletti, translated by Beverly Cross, at the Cort Theatre, with Diana Millay, Joanna Morris, Maureen Pryor, Ian Carmichael and Gerard Harper. The bedroom farce was a smash in Europe after its 1962 London debut, yet this Broadway version ran less than three weeks, Feb 2-20, 1965. A splashy Hollywood film based on the original play was made & released later that year starring Jerry Lewis and Tony Curtis, which was a box office hit and is one of Quentin Tarentino's all-time favorite flicks. On 15" x 20" illustration board. 12" x 13" image. Edge toned, drawing is fine.
