Description: Otto Muehl - a representative of Viennese Actionism - worked both strictly conceptual and with expressive gestures but the color always played a central role. Obsessively Muehl themed the role of the human body and its sexual emancipation. He positioned himself strongly opposed to the art system and believed in the social significance of painting and drawing. "Meet a Mr Otto Muehl and a Mr Alfred Hrdlicka. The former painted like Cézanne; shortly afterwards like Oskar Schlemmer and when I arrive at Cézanne he already paints like Paul Klee. He impressed me incredibly." (Adolf Frohner) watercolour on paper signed and dated lower right 7;9 x 11;2 inch; framed

Artist or Maker: Muehl Otto
