Description: PIERRE JACQUEMON
Untitled.

Oil, watercolor and metal leaf on paper. 280x350 mm; 11x13 3/4 inches. Signed and dedicated in pencil, lower left recto.

Jacquemon (1936-2002) was born in Lyon and moved to New York's Lower East Side to pursue his artistic career. He had a solo exhibition at Bianchini Gallery in 1963 and exhibited at other New York galleries throughout the 60s and 70s. His largely abstract, atmospheric works have a primordial feel and often contain ancient symbols and simple, yet powerful, shapes.
