Description: (PLAYING CARDS.) Jeu des Drapeaux [Flag Deck]. Non-standard piquet deck. 32 (of 32) engraved playing cards, partially hand-colored. 4 x 2 9/16 inches. Light dust smudging, generally very good. France, circa 1814

Notes: Piquet is a game played with 32 cards: 7''s through 10''s, face cards, and aces of each suit. A military motif is the theme of this deck, presenting the armies of France (hearts), Germany (diamonds), Britain (spades) and Russia (clubs) as the adversaries.
