Papua New Guinea, Sepik River Area, ca. early 20th century CE. This is a pottery head with white shells for eyes and a snail shell buried inside of its head; the head is broken to reveal the shell inside. The face also has a large nose and open mouth. This is an interesting piece with a hidden detail! Size: 4" L x 4.25" W x 4.5" H (10.2 cm x 10.8 cm x 11.4 cm)
