The Porsche 911 was presented as the successor of the Porsche 356 at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany in 1963. The name was first ‘901’, but as this was a trademark owned by Peugeot it had to be changed and the car was introduced on the market as ‘911’ in 1964.
Up until 1983 it was available as coupé and targa, after which the convertible was also presented.
The wheelbase grew to 227 cm in 1968 in the course of model care and it was combined with mudguard widenings and some detail changes. One year later came the 2,2-litre engine, which was available as 911 T (Touring), 911 E (Injector) and 911 S. The 911 E was the first injector, because of the strict US emission standards, and had 114 kw, so that it could speed up until 222km/h. The offered vehicle matches this specification and is in the rare color pastel blue.
In 1971 the 2,4-litre was built and in 1973 with the Carrera RS the 2,7-litre boxer. From the year 1973 the changed front and back sections, together with the stronger 1,7-litre came to be, considering the US registration regulations. The ‘G’ model was built till 1989 and was later replaced by the model type ‘694’.
