Description: PORTRAIT OF THREE CHILDREN (AMERICAN SCHOOL, MID 19TH CENTURY).
Oil on canvas, unsigned. The oldest, a girl in print dress, holds out an apple to the youngest boy dressed in white, the other boy in blue holds his cap. All three are wearing gold and coral jewelry, the boys having coral roping on their sleeves. In original gilt frame, 30.75.h. 35.25"w. Sold at Garth's, September 4, 1992, lot 281.

Condition Report: Cleaned, with approximately 50% inpainting done in at least three stages. Most of the inpainting is in the bottom left and includes the two children on the left and part of the face of the child on the right. There is a 1/2"l. tear above the head of the child on the right.
