Description: Circa 1800 AD. A 'stone bow' or bullet-shooting crossbow by J. Johnson of Manchester with rifle-type wooden stock, iron trigger, sights and mechanism, iron inlay plaques to the upper and lateral faces, long iron curved bow with hooked ends, tapered nose with rib detailing. 2.3 kg, 81cm (32"). Property of an Essex collector; acquired on the UK art market.
