Description: 18th century AD. A flat-section gold hoop with rococo engraving to the outer face, expanding shoulders, bezel with scrolled borders and granules, three inset sphenes. See Bonewitz, Dr. Ronald Louis, Gems, 2013, p.197. 1.63 grams, 21mm overall, 18.43mm internal diameter (approximate size British Q, USA 8 1/4, Europe 17.77, Japan 17) (3/4"). Property of a Sussex gentleman; acquired before 1990. The stones were examined in detail by Dr. Bonewitz who notes that they are well-cut for the period.
