Description: 16th-17th century AD. A sheet bronze discoid mount comprising: rear plaque with central repoussé motif of opposed busts of St Paul and St Peter within a roundel with christogram above, band of repoussé barleytwist blocks protruding into slots in the face plate with two bands of pellets and corresponding barleytwist blocks; attachment spikes to the reverse. 23 grams, 75mm (3"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired before 1990.

Condition Report: Fine condition, restored. Very rare.
