Description: 17th-19th century AD. A flat-section silver hoop with chamfered edges, discoid bezel with notched edge and radiating filigree cage, inner chamber and hinged lid with inset amethyst(?) cabochon. See Oman, C.C. Victoria and Albert Museum Catalogue of Rings, reprinted Ipswich, 1993, p.43 for discussion. 11 grams, 34mm overall, 22.45mm internal diameter (approximate size British Z+1, USA 13, Europe 30.15, Japan 29) (1 1/2"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the 1970s.

Condition Report: Fine condition. A very large wearable size.
