The region of Boulogne-Sur-Mer is known for its extensive quarries of clays with ceramic qualities, used to produce refractory bricks (for lining blast-furnaces, kilns, ovens, etc.) and ceramicbuilding materials. This company, formed 1901 at Samer, near Boulogne, produced a range of such products at its works at Saint-Etienne (Pont de Briques).
