for 1833, with twist iron London proved 29in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat re-signed ''J. PURDEY, 314 1/2 OXFORD STREET LONDON'', dove-tailed fore-sight (blade damaged), standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, breech-block with twin platinum lines and plug, fully engraved top-tang featuring the mask of a leopard, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed ''PURDEY, the centre section with a further engraving of a seated stag, sliding safe behind the hammer, refinished chequered walnut half stock with carved raised cheek-piece, iron heel-plate and chequered spurred trigger-guard tang, single barrel key and heavy duty horn-mounted under-barrel ramrod
