Lot 200: QING DYNASTY FAMILLE ROSE & GILT PORCELAIN BUDDHA

Formal in appearance, the Buddha gazes forward with partially Athe eyes below the deep-blue protruding knops hair, piled in a tuft on top with a single gilt overglazed ornament adorning the crown. Between the eyebrows is a red dot (urna) and adorning the neck are three curved horizontal lines above the three beads gilt necklace. The earlobes are long and pierced. Both hands performs the gesture (dhyanasana-mudra) of meditation - palm upward in the lap holding a gilt begging bowl. The legs are folded in vajra posture, right over left. The robe is delicately hand painted in Famille rose design with auspicious geometrical patterns.
Mark on base, two impressed signature seals. One with You Zang Zi Cao; other with Fu jian Hui Guan.
