Description: The clay fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Delicately potted In form of seated Buddha in elaborately dressed figure, elongated ears, position of appeasement with serene face beneath the headdress. Hands in Dhyana Mudra gesture of absolute balance, meditation. Seated in full lotus position. The robe is delicately hand painted in Famille rose design in reddish-brown underglaze and gilt over glaze accents. A similar lower garment is tied at the waist with a cloth belt, painted in pale-royal-blue underglaze. The under base shows creme-orange ground with mottled burnt grayish and dark-brown firing marks.
