Description: Unframed oil painting on canvas of New York Central Park scene by Rachel V. Hartley. Unsigned and documented as part of the estate collection of Rachel V. Hartley paintings. Rachel Hartley (1884-1955) was born in New York City. She was the granddaughter of George Inness (1825-1894), and the daughter of sculptor Jonathan Scott Hartley. She began to paint and sketch at age 10. She studied at the Art Student's League of NY, and she later became a teacher of the League, and a member of the American Federation of the Arts. 20" high, 16" wide. Condition: some flaking, slight losses.
