Lot 38: Rare 18th Century Lacquer Wood 7-string Chinese Ku Qin

Description: This was a Qing Dynasty seven strings Confucious style musical instrument called 'Ku Qin'. 'Ku' in Chinese means ancient, while 'Qin' in Chinese means Piano. This kind of Ku Qin was invented even before the Tang Dynasty. This instrument was marked with two Chinese characters 'Bi Shan' probably the name of the owner. There were crack line of the lacquer which showed the age of this Ku Qin was at least from the early 19th Century.
